MUNDUS NOVUS is a direct descendant from its prestigious and beloved predecessor, particularly in the area of commerce. Mare Nostrum was a big game with lots of details, but MUNDUS NOVUS is lighter. This time, the length of the game is different, and you'll be trading across the Atlantic in the seventeenth century using splendid caravels.
The goal of the game is to cover yourself in glory (well, technically, there are two ways to win), and you'll accomplish this goal in a series of exchanges using a simple system. A few new twists on the mechanics will keep you on your toes.
All the players will get cards. The value of these cards will determine the order of trade. You can get more cards from those displayed for sale, but just one at a time, and then all the other players get a chance to do the same.
The goal is to get cards that are either identical or all different, to either purchase equipment or earn victory points.
Various benefits are available, such as new caravels to draw more cards, warehouses to store cards at the end of a turn, or historical characters with special skills.
Events will change the game as you play, but they're good (or bad) for all players, forcing players to adjust strategies to keep up with the changes.
MUNDUS NOVUS is a race for fame and fortune where you'll have to choose your strategy wisely and find the right rhythm for progress based on the actions of your fellow players.
